Make your own custom Twitter background
There are different ways to go about making a custom Twitter background. You can use one large image which covers the entire backgrond. Or you can follow along with this tutorial and use a smaller image and have the backgound color fade into it using the gradient tool.
Having a custom twitter backgound sets you apart from the people who simply use the default backgounds. It also allows you to further solidify your brand if you are a company.
1. Choose a backgound picture. It doesn't have to be a pictrure but it can be a blank background where you write info about your Web site, contact info, etc.
2. Make the size of the background 678x800. Here is the picture that I am using:
3. Now it is time to pick your background color that wil fade into the picture. In my image I used #03397b.
4. Pick your color and make it the foreground color.
5. Select the gradient tool and apply a gradient from rigfht to left. Make sure the gradient is set to foreground to transparant. You background should look something like this:
6. Create a new layer and apply the same gradient from the bottom up as shown here:
7. Now you can add some text or whatever you like. And there it is we are done. Just a few steps and we have this beautiful Twitter background.
8. Finally, lets hop over to Twitter and apply what we have created. After signing in go to settings and at the bottom of the page click on Change design colors.
9. Change the backgound color to the gradient color you chose. That's it. You now have a stylish Twitter backgound.
10. To finish up click change background image and use the background image you created.
That's it. You now have a stylish Twitter backgound. In addition to changing the background color and image it is recommended to tweak the text, links, sidebar, etc. You want your profile to have a uniform look throughout. If you have a Web site is is a good idea to use the same colors from there.
